John Raese is running for office again. Smarting from his loss to Joe Manchin in 2010, Raese figured out that the reason he didn’t win is because he wasn’t batshit insane enough for the electorate. But he’s fixed that with his announcement that the Monongalia County Health Department and the Nazis are essentially one in the same:

I don’t want government telling me what I can do and what I can’t do because I’m an American. But in Monongalia County you can’t smoke a cigarette, you can’t smoke a cigar, you can’t do anything. And I oppose that. … I have to put a huge sticker on my buildings to say this is a smoke free environment. This is brought to you by the government of Monongalia County. OK? Remember Hitler used to put Star of David on everybody’s lapel, remember that? Same thing. 

I won’t bother discussing the differences between the Monongalia County Board of Health and Hitler, because anybody getting enough oxygen to their brain understands that they’re not “the same thing.”
